The setting is modern-day Taiwan, the subjects, two girls and a boy attending the same high school. Popular Yuezhen has the hots for Shihao (Bo-Lin Chen陳柏霖), the cute, spiky-haired star of the boys\' swimming team. So obsessed is Yuezhen that she goes through Shihao\'s garbage, collecting personal items like a bottle he drank from and a pair of his old shoes. Too shy to speak with Shihao, Yuezhen gets her best friend, tomboyish Meng Kerou (Lun-Mei Guey桂綸鎂), to act as a go-between. Then things get messy. The boy develops a crush on the tomboy and the tomboy discovers she has lesbian feelings for her pretty best friend. From here on, BLUE GATE CROSSING(藍色大門) charts the deepening friendship between Shihao and Kerou, a dynamic complicated by the girl\'s suspicion that she\'s a lesbian. The sensitive subject matter is handled discreetly by writer-director Chin-Yen Yee（易智言）, who never lets the story sink into exploitation or finger-pointing. The film\'s biggest asset is its lovable young cast, especially Guey, who in real life is still in high school.
