Synopsis : |
After the death of his father, Shiao Kang begins to fear darkness. If he needs to pee at mid night, he would not dare for he believes that the ghost of the father is around, wondering the house. During daytime he sells watch on the street. A woman by the name of Shiang-Chyi, who is about to travel abroad, comes to him to buy a watch. She likes the one on Shiao Kang's wrist. According to custom, the period of seven weeks during mourning, Shiao Kang's possession should never being transferred as it would bring bad luck to the receiver. Shiang-Chyi is adamant. Finally Shiao Kang gave in. He feels faintly attracted to this person although he knows little of her. The one thing that he is sure of is Paris is where she goes. In his dimly lit room, he dials and finds out the time difference between Paris and Taipei. It is seven hours. One by one, he begins to wind the watches seven hours behind...... The mother finds the clock in the house has become slower. Superstitious as she is, she firmly believes that it is the act her deceased husband. From here onwards, the household unfold into a strange lifestyle. The woman that wears Shiao Kang's watch lies in her bed in a hotel in Paris. She has been hearing sound of footsteps coming from the room above her. Who is staying upstairs? |
