Under Japenese colonization, two brothers, Ah Fa and Big Mouth, are poor peasants from a family of many children. The two brothers bear a heavy burden while managing to support the whole family. Regardless of this, they feel lucky for not having been drafted to fight in the war. During the American bombing, a child finds a piece of bomb shell in the field by accident. When the child is rewarded for what he has found, other children rush to the bomb site, putting their lives in danger, in search of more shells. They find an unexploded bomb. Ah Fa and Big Mouth are willing to risk their lives for the reward. unfortunately, instead of receiving an award, they are forced to throw the bomb away...
