Young girls Huei-Hua and Shiou-Gu have grown up together like sisters. Huei-Hua finds the opposite sex and the local marriage system(choosing and determining your husband or wife when you're a child) fearful and unconsciously projects her love on Shiou-Gu. They have a wedding in the local temple. Shiou-Gu thinks this is for fun, Huei-Hua takes it seriously. She indulges in her love to Shiou-Gu even when she is married to A-Guang. For this, Siou-Gu gradully feels something wrong. Later Huei-Hua is forced to marry a rich man, Da-Shiung. Not lonf after that, she demands a divorce and runs away to her own family.
