Ray, an incurable gambler, is a night security guard in a department store. He occasionally borrows money from his ex-wife and can only express his distress to mannequins in the windows. Dio, Ray’s son and a part-time worker in a movie theater, has a crush on a co-worker who is passionately in love with his foreign boyfriend. No matter how hard Dio tries to memorize English words, he cannot win the love he desires. The father and son depend on each other but cannot be an outlet for emotions for the other. Companionship in silence or with words is just false sustenance. In Zhan Kai-Di's first feature film, the attempt to change fate in two generations is represented through money and language, but they can only go for a ride in a luxury car they can't afford.
