The three-generation Ha-yong family inhabits an indigenous community on a highland exceeding an altitude of 1000 m, an area covered with fog even in late September. The family starts their day with a wisp of smoke from the fireplace.

The Atayal tradition “GAGA” that Grandpa Ha-yong (played by Wilang Noming), the chieftain, has followed all his life has long been ignored by tribespeople nowadays. He can only repeatedly remind his grandson Yi-nuo (played by Yukan Losing), an aspiring hunter who dislikes studying, of this tribal belief system.

The boundary-crossing by the village head Dou-li (played by Fa Ai)’s family upsets the Ha-yongs, who try to claim their rights but fail. Ha-yong’s eldest son Pasang attempts to consolidate the family’s status through the upcoming chief election.

Since Pasang’s wife passed away unexpectedly, there has always been a gap and an invisible wall between him and his daughter Ah-li (played by Lin Ting-Li). This late autumn sees Ah-li’s return after part-time working in New Zealand and Grandpa Ha-yong’s sudden death. The community is surrounded by thick fog, just like the intriguing atmosphere in the Ha-yongs this winter.

Pasang’s decision regarding election following Ha-yong's death is undoubtedly a shock to the family. The unexpected visit of a foreign beau, Andy (played by Andy Huang), urther fbrings shocks and jokes to this traditional chieftain family.

Xi-lang (played by Gaki Baunay), Pasang’s younger brother, involves his family in the election campaign, leading to disputes with his wife Yu-li (played by Esther Huang). The grandma (played by Kagaw Piling) is originally against Pasang’s decision, but the entire family eventually makes a crazy bet for the election.
