"How can we be happy if the three scourges are not eradicated?" With allusions to a Chinese fable, the story of “The Pig, the Snake, and the Pigeon" relates a wanted fugitive Chen Gui-Lin’s arrogant pursuit of revenge at the final farewell of a gang leader, only to find that he only ranks third among the most wanted criminals. Determined to eradicate the top two most wanted ones, he finds out their whereabouts. He thinks he has become a contemporary Zhou Chu (the protagonist of the Chinese fable) who eliminates the three evil beings but fails to see that unfathomable greed, anger, and ignorance are the ultimate crime and punishment to be faced in life. |
