Lin is currently a technical manager of Aesthetics Production. He was formerly a technical director and cinematography of Central Motion Picture Corporation, and the Director of Association of Cinematography of R.O.C.. His filmography as a director of photography: Home Sweet Home, Goodbye Darling, Tonight Nobody Goes Home,Victory, Falling Snowflakes, The Swordsman of All Swordsmen, The Wheel of Life. He won the Best Cinematography of the 6th Golden Horse Awards for Lonely Seventeen, and the Best Color Cinematography of the 15th Golden Horse Awards for Girl Friend.

He passed away on March 14, 2025, due to a heart attack, at the age of 96.
