In 1979, Hsiao-Fen Lu won the championship in a domestic singing talent show on TV. In 1980, she became a film actress and made her debut in On the Society File of Shanghai. She won Best Leading Actress of the 20th Golden Horse Awards with A Flower in The Rainy Night. She consecutively won Best Actress Awards at Asia-Pacific Film Festival in 1987 for Osmanthus Alley and in 1988 for Spring Swallow. Over the years, she has challenged various roles and been nominated for many movie awards for her excellent acting skills. Despite her absence from cinema for 20 years, she will return to the big screen with Day Off at the end of 2022. |
