Shen Ko-shang (沈可尚) was born in Taipei and graduated from the Department of Motion Picture of the National Taiwan University of Arts. In 1999, his graduation project ""Layover (與山)"" was shortlisted by the Cannes' Short films in Competition; however he was suffering from depression at that time and thus turned to seek career in the advertising industry. After working in the advertising industry for a while, Shen took part in the documentary film production for the National Geographic Channel by chance. Since then, he started serving as a cinematographer for documentaries, including "Baseball Boys (野球孩子)" and "The Pigeon Game (賽鴿風雲)." In 2013, Shen earned a cash prize of NT$1 million at the Taipei Film Festival for "A Rolling Stone (築巢人)." In 2017, he served as the director of the Taipei Film Festival to find new positioning and possibilities for the film festival. |
