This film is a result of a promise made between the filmmakers and a patient dying of cancer, on the day of departure from the Heart Lotus Ward. The Heart Lotus Ward is the headquarter of palliative care center of the Buddhist Tzu Chi General Hospital in Hualien. Accompanied by the professionals and volunteers, the patients spend the final stage of their lives here. Here is the place where death does us apart.
