Trapa taiwanensis pond is a man-made wetland. In some of the more secluded deep-water trapa taiwanensis ponds, lives in a very special inhabitant "Pheasant-tailed Jacana." Today, there are less than 50 Pheasant-tailed Jacana in Taiwan, and it has been assigned rare species status in need of protection under the ROC's Wildlife Conservation Act. The deep-water trapa taiwanensis pond not only provides a suitable habitat for the Pheasant-tailed Jacana, but also attracts other creatures, such as Little Grebes, Moorhens, dragonflies, frogs...etc. Together, they create a diversified ecosystem. This documentary has been made to record the lives of the Pheasant-tailed Jacana, the Little Grebe, the Moorhen, and other residents of the trapa taiwanensis pond. Close
