Established in 2002, Urban Nomad Film Festival has organized film screenings, music performances, artistic creations and other cultural showcases for many years, and it has gradually become a well-known cultural brand in Taiwan. For the annual Urban Nomad events, movies selected from film festivals worldwide, including Berlin International Film Festival, Sundance Film Festival, SXSW Film, etc. These are films you can’t see in local theaters, making a splash in the annual Urban Nomad Film Festival. In 2015, the 14th Urban Nomad Film Festival held screenings for 10 days in Taipei, followed by a tour screening in the South and the Central of Taiwan. The film festival emphasizes the spirit of independence, creativity and fun. It accumulates a lot of loyal cinephiles and its influence grows. In addition to film screenings, the Urban Nomad Film Festival also produces or co-organizes various cultural events, such as music performances, parties, installation art exhibitions, etc. In 2013, the period of events amounted to more than 60 days, which attracted more than 10,000 audience in total.In addition to the annual Urban Nomad Film Festival, we also co-organized diverse cultural events, including two versions of "URBAN NOMAD x DESIGN CINEMA", the "Graffiti Labyrinth" DJ Stage in Megaport Music Festival, and parallel film programs of the 2008 Taipei Biennial, and the special screenings and panel discussions in Art Taipei, etc. During the Urban Nomad Film Festival, selected documentaries are shown every day in totally unconventional viewing spaces, illuminating the night sky of Taipei with the latest international developments that today’s artists are most concerned about. With the nominated films program showing short films from Taiwan and abroad, as well as the Urban Nomad Awards Competition, and the essential subculture films featured each year, the fresh, fun and atypical unique experience opens up a broader perspective.
