South Taiwan Film Festival

The Southern Taiwan Film Festival was founded in 2001 by a group of film lovers who thought southern Taiwan was lack of large-scale film festivals like those in northern Taiwan. The original intention was to introduce the acclaimed independent films showcased in northern Taiwan to audiences in southern Taiwan, enabling them to access to the same cultural resources. In recent years, in addition to introducing excellent films, the festival has actively encouraged and discovered potential young filmmakers, and provided a platform for emerging image creators. The festival focuses on exploring contemporary social issues, hoping to raise awareness and stimulate contemplation on the environment while broadening the public's horizons through films.
