Wang Yen-ni was born in 1980 and graduated from the National Taiwan University of Arts with a degree in filmmaking. Her works have received recognitions from several domestic and international film festivals. Her first short film "Birthday," which was made in her junior year in college, was accepted into the Berlin International Film Festival and Venice Film Festival. At the same year, she finished a short documentary titled "Plane Maker," which won the Taipei Theme Award and People's Choice Award at the Taipei Film Festival. She later won Best Feature at the Taipei Film Festival and Best Short Film at the Golden Horse Awards for her graduation project "The Secret in the Wind." After finishing university, she has continued to engage in making features, documentaries, TV commercials, and music videos.
