Laha Mebow

Laha Mebow is an Atayal film professional from Nan'ao, Yilan. She has worked as an assistant director and on project planning and promotion for directors including Tsai Ming-Liang and Chang Tso-Chi. She also worked as a producer and director in Taiwan Indigenous Television and Da Ai Television. Experienced in the television and film industry, she is the first female indigenous filmmaker in Taiwan. She was awarded by Taiwan’s president as one of the 23rd Taiwan Top Ten Outstanding Young Women for her “promotion of aboriginal culture and international exchange”. Her documentaries and dramas revolve around aboriginal issues. She also makes photographic works on Austronesian peoples in collaboration with foreign artists.
