Chuan Wang (1963-) graduated from the School of Theatre Arts of Taipei National University of the Arts. She is an associate professor at the Graduate Institute of Performing Arts, National Taiwan Normal University. She founded the Comedians Workshop, a group of Chinese stand-up comedy. Active in cinema and theatre, she is best known for her role as a mother in many films and TV series. She was nominated for the Golden Horse Award for Best Leading Actress ("Autumn of Blue"), won the Best Performer at the Taoyuan Film Festival ("Mama Pingpong Social Club"), and was recognized by the Golden Bell Awards three times. She also acted in films including "Snowfall in Taipei", "A Brighter Summer Day”, "Nina Wu", and "Leave Me Alone".
