HSU Hui-Ju
Director
Born in 1975, Hsu Hui-Ju, graduated from the Graduate Institute of Studies in Documentary and Film Archiving, Tainan National University of the Arts. She specializes in documentary filmmaking with a narrative style which is delicate and gently beautiful. Her internationally multi-award-winning works often revolve around stories about life. Her Hard Good Life II won the Audience Choice Award at Women Make Waves Film Festival, Taiwan and the Special Jury Mention, Taiwan Competition at the Taiwan International Documentary Film Festival; her Hard Good Life won "New Asian Currents" Awards of Excellence at the Yamagata International Documentary Film Festival, Japan. In recent years, she has continued to work on documentary films. In 2017, she directed the short film Temporary.
