TSAI Kuo-jung

Scriptwriter

Tsai Kuo-jung was born in 1951, and graduated from the National Academy of Art with a degree in Drama and Motion Picture. He is a screenwriter, film critic, journalist and teacher. He used to serve as the editor-in-chief of the Taiwan Cinema Yearbook. Since 1977, he has engaged in script writing, accumulating decades of experience in writing screenplays for films, TV dramas and theatrical productions, with many of them earning awards and recognition.

In 2000, he was nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay at the 37th Golden Horse Awards and the 73rd Academy Awards for "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" he co-wrote with Wang Hui-ling and James Schamus.
