Director
A renowned Taiwanese animation director who specializes in hand-drawn animation for exploring the darker sides of human nature. His style integrating horror and eroticism has been recognized at international film festivals. His works include “Meat Days” (2016, nominee at the Busan International Film Festival) and “The Present” (2013, nominee at the Sundance Film Festival); both films won Best Animated Short at the San Diego Asian Film Festival. Moreover, “Night Bus” (2020) won Best Animated Short Film at the Golden Horse Awards and took home the Grand Prize at Animafest Zagreb, one of the world’s top three animation festivals, as well as the Jury Award for Best Animated Short at the Sundance Festival. He was also qualified for the 2022 Academy Award for Best Short Film (Animated). “Praying Mantis” (2025) directed by him is the first Taiwanese animated work nominated for the Horizons competition at the Venice Film Festival.
