Chia-Hsin LIU

Born in 1980 and holds master's degree in filmmaking from the National Taiwan University of Arts, Liu Chia-Hsin is an up-and-coming filmmaker. She has worked as a production crew for documentaries, independent film, and international productions. In recent years, she has been directing and producing films that mostly explore contemporary women's issues. She won the Audience Award at the International Short Film Festival Berlin in 2015 as well as the top prize at the Women Make Waves Film for "Fan Fan" in 2016. The film has also been screened at numerous international film festivals. Later, "Fan Fan" was selected by the Résidence de la Cinéfondation of the Cannes International Film Festival in 2018 to be developed into a feature film, making her the first Taiwanese filmmaker to participate in the Canne's Résidence de la Cinéfondation.
