Ben Tsiang is a representative figure of Chinese documentaries. In 2006, he founded a cultural organization called CNEX, which has distributed several films in China and Taiwan. He has held the CNEX Documentary Film Festivals and CNEX Chinese Documentary Forums in Taiwan, providing a platform for Chinese language films to enter global market through partnering with international documentary forums. His documentaries have earned recognition from domestic and international film festivals.
In 2017, Tsiang was invited to join the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and served as the judge for the Oscar category of documentaries.
