Born to a family of glove puppeteers in 1985, Huang Liang-hsun is the fifth generation of the Pili Glove Puppetry. His great grandfather, Huang Hai-Dai, was a Taiwanese puppet master; his father, Chris Huang, is the founder of Pili Dramas.
The first film Huang participated in as a screenwriter is "The Arti: The Adventure Begins." His innovative style and the incorporation of modern slang words changed the traditional Taiwanese-language dubbing and brought glove puppetry closer to modern life in Taiwan. He also works as a visual effects supervisor, combining 3D techniques with visual effects and animations in post-production. To push for the development of Taiwan's animation industry, he founded Bigger Picture Inc. to dedicate to developing new techniques and organizing for post-production.
Liang Hsun Huang is the successor of new generation of Pili puppet show. In recent years, he has tried transnational cooperation and co-produced the TV series, Thunderbolt Fantasy, with Japanese animation master Urobuchi Gen, which has attracted the attention of Japanese fans. At the same time, Pili Fantasy: War of Dragons is also streaming on Netflix, continuing to allow audiences around the world to see Pili puppet shows.
