CHIANG Wei-Liang graduate film When the Cold Wind Blows during his student exchange period in Taiwan from 2010 to 2012. In 2013, he was among the first receivers of film scholarship from Singapore’s Media Development Authority and went to study in Taiwan. In 2014, he was admitted to the 6th Golden Horse Film Academy. His short film Anchorage Prohibited in 2015 was shortlisted for the Golden Horse Awards and the Golden Harvest Awards and included in the 66th Berlin International Film Festival. Chiang Wei-Liang's works attempt to link between Northeast Asia and Southeast Asia and aspires to find relations between these two regions and Taiwan. In the future, he hopes to focus more on depicting social issues.
The short film Anchorage Prohibited (2015) directed by Wei-Liang Chiang stood out from 25 films from 21 countries and won the Audi Short Film Award at the Berlinale. Kaohsiung City, Yancheng District, Fubei Rd., No.31, a documentary directed by him, was nominated for Best Documentary Short Film of the 59th Golden Horse Awards.
