Shih-Han Tsao earned a master’s degree in directing from Department of Filmmaking of Taipei National University of the Arts. He was nominated for Best Writing for a Mini-series/TV movie of Golden Bell Awards with He's a Dog, in My House, in 2012, and was nominated for Excellent Screenplay Award several times.

In 2016, he was selected into Golden Horse Film Academy and accepted the guidance of filmmakers from Hong Kong, Taiwan and Mainland China. A Dream of Spring in 2017 and Neko and Flies in 2020 were both selected into International Competition of the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival.
