Born in Pingtung and graduated from Department of Chinese Literature of National Cheng Kung University, Herb Hsu is an actress, director, scriptwriter and writer, and she later earned the MFA from Graduate Institute of Playwriting of Taipei National University of the Arts. In 2018, she was nominated for Best Actress in a Leading Role of Asian Television Award with Far and Away, and in 2016, her performance in The Youth! was Highly Commended by the Jury of Asian Television Award for the category of Best Actress in a Supporting Role. In 2019, she was nominated for Best Leading Actress in a Television Series of Golden Bell Awards with A Taste to Remember. In 2009, she was nominated for Best Supporting Actress in a Miniseries or Television Film of Golden Bell Awards with Osmanthus Stuffed. Her superb acting skills always impressed the judges very much.
