Teng-Yuan Chang graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Department of Radio, Television and Film of Shih Hsin University with a major in cinema. His graduation work was a short film titled Crossing the Sentimental Desert on the relationship between new immigrants and citizens in Taiwan. He worked for 4-Way News, a paper dedicated to Southeast Asian immigrants in Taiwan, and dug into issues about “new residents” and migrant workers. He borrowed money to complete the feature film Days Before the Millennium (2022) based on the stories of new residents in Taiwan, depicting their delicate nostalgic feelings.
