Hu Chin-Ya was born in Taipei and graduated from Graduate School of Journalism of National Taiwan University and Graduate School of Social Research and Cultural Studies of National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU). With her continued attention to issues of social change and culture, she has been a contributing writer and translator for Initium Media and the “coolloud” website as well as a member of the Asia-Pacific culture research team at NYCU. “Bird-Window Collisions” co-produced by her and Song Cheng-Ying won Special Jury Award in International Competition of the 2024 Seoul International Eco Film Festival (SIEFF).
