The growth of Wang Film Productions Co., Ltd. since its founding in 1978 has been steady and phenomenal. It is one of the largest and most productive animation studios worldwide.

For its first year, the 1978-79 television season, Wang Film produced 17 episodes of cartoon series for its first client, Hanna-Barbera of Hollywood.

Now, each year, Wang Film produces more than 200 episodes, specials and features for clients in the United States, Canada, Europe, and the Orient.

In the course of the first 14 years, the staff of Wang Film in Taipei grew to nearly 1000: managers, supervisors, administrative personnel, creative and storyboard personnel, animators, assistant animators, animation supervisors, layout artists, background artists, checkers, painters, special graphics, translators, film editors, camera operators, and digital painting operators.

In addition, a second facility was opened in Bangkok 1989, where a staff of 250 carries out layout, animation, assistant animation, and both digital and traditional painting to compositing function. And recently, the third facility was opened in Suzhou, where a staff of 350 carries out layout, animation to both digital and traditional painting to compositing function.

To bring the speed and efficiency to animated film making and also carries out many special effects and loads of 3D works to laborious and time-consuimg to be practical in conventional animation, our studios have totally about 50 working stations for the USAnimation digital system, and over 80 working stations for the AniMaster system.

To the extent that is practical, the team approach is used, with each show having its own animators and background artists.

This helps increase efficiency and productivity and employee pride in their work and their particular project. It also aids in retaining the small company atmosphere as the company grows larger.

Construction of the first new studio building in the Taipei suburb of Hsin-Tien in 1983 brought total studio space to 51,500 square feet. Four years later, in 1987, construction was completed on the second additional building on the same street, bringing studio space to more than 150,000 square feet.

In the new millenium, additional to tradition 2D animation production, our CG studio provides full length 3D-character animation for TV series and direct to video features. We have produced famous full 3D TV series Noddy and Donkey Kong Country III on a joint venture basis, and is currently working on the Bionicle direct to video. We provide the services from Layout, Animation, Special Effects, Compositing, Rendering, to Recording.

Our CG studio fully utilizes and implements the worldwide Internet to do the communication and delivery with our clients or partners around the world. We have 110 full time artists in 3D production. We are capable to deliver one half-hour animation every week, after the 3D pre-production database is built up.
