LEE Chi-Yuarn

Director , Scriptwriter

Chi Yuarn LEE was born in Taipei. He is a widely acclaimed writer and poet in his native Taiwan. He graduated with a M.F.A. from the Art Center College of Design, Pasadena.

In 1997, his first feature film, Hurricane Festival, received numerous prizes at several film festivals. After directing Chocolate Rap (2006 Tokyo International Film Festival) and Beautiful Crazy (won the Special Mention of the International Jury at 2008 Mannheim-Heidelberg International Film Festival), in 2011 his film Blowfish got FIPRESCI Award and TITRA Award at Geneva International Film Festival; it received warm responses from the critics and film festivals.
