Huang Yu-Shan
Director
Huang Yu-Shan (1954-) is a senior documentary filmmaker and screenwriter. She obtained an MA in Cinema Studies from the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University and debuted in the film industry after encountering the director Lee Hsing through work. In addition to filmmaking, she also teaches in colleges; her research domains include film and television directing, documentary, and film criticism. She has directed stage plays, written novels, and founded the South Taiwan Film Festival and Women Make Waves International Film Festival. Her directorial works include feature films ("Autumn Tempest" and “Taste of Life") and documentaries ("Ju Ming", "The Story of the Former Residence of a Person of the Past" , and "In Perpetual Nostalgia: Tales of the Military Dependents' Villages in Literature").
