This film tells the story of a doomed romance between an undisciplined young man, Wen-Xiang, who is sent to a Buddhist monastery and Su-Bi, the woman he meets there. Su-Bi is ousted from a poor family because she is sterile. Su-bi takes thoughtful care of Wen-Xiang. For him, these are really happy days in the Buddhist monastery. A windy day, Wen-Xiang goes to the drying yard and finds Su-Bi's underwear swinging on the bamboo rod. Sometimes he can hear the sound when she takes a bath.
