Jennifer Yang

Director

Born in 1989, Jennifer Yang is an up-and-coming Taiwanese female director. She holds a bachelor degree from the Department of Radio & Television at the National Chengchi University and a master degree in filmmaking, directing and screenwriting from the visual arts MFA program at Columbia University.

When she was a college student, her short film "Her Dream Lovers" was selected by the Cannes Film Festival Short Film Corner. She has earned recognitions from both domestic and international film festivals several times, with short film "Ping Pong Coach" winning the Best Student Short Film at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2016. Yang's MFA graduation project "Tail End of the Year" also entered the Taipei Film Festival in 2018. In addition, she also received the Student Grant Award from the National Board of Review the same year. In 2024, she won Jury Prize at Golden Harvest Awards for "Cry Me Through Hell".
