陳傳興
CHEN Tsun-Shing
Director , Scriptwriter , Executive Producer
Born in 1952, Chen Tsun-shing is a Taiwanese scholar and director who holds a doctorate degree in linguistics from the School for Advanced Studies in the Social Sciences. While studying in France, he studied literature, film studies, theater, arts, photography, semiology, and psychoanalysis extensively. He also learned visual and video analysis from French master of film theory Christian Metz.
He established the Editions du Flaneur publisher in 1998 to introduce contemporary French culture and ideas to Taiwan. Editions du Flaneur has released several French classics and literary works by Chen.
In 2012, he was honored the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres in 2012. Moreover, he launched the film series titled "The Inspired Island: Series of Eminent Writers from Taiwan" and directed two of the films titled "Port of Mists" and "The Coming of Tulku."
