Director

Lin Chun-Ni (1983-) majored in architecture at university and is active in the film and television industries in Taiwan and Japan. Her films explore themes such as space, history, and movement. Her short films “Yen Yen” and “The Comfort in Forgetting” were selected for the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival, the São Paulo International Short Film Festival, and the DMZ International Documentary Film Festival (Korea). She won the Silver Award at the Women Make Waves Film Festival (Taiwan) for “Before the Dawn”. She co-directed “Amateur in the Moon” with director Huang Pang-Chuan; shot on 9.5mm film—a format that had nearly disappeared for half a century—and featuring Japanese dialogue, the film was shortlisted for the Taiwan Competition at the Taiwan International Documentary Festival and selected for the Kaohsiung Film Festival and the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival. Recently, she collaborated again with Huang on “Daughter of Nectar” shot on 16mm film, which was screened at the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (IDFA).
