Graduated from Department of Information and Communication of Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology, Tzu-Yu Lin specializes in cinematography and film editing. He worked as a visual effect assistant in ARS Film Productions Co., Ltd. and was a member of the production team behind Kano directed by Te-Sheng Wei. In 2019, he co-edited the film Han Dan.
