The film is about the Mayasvi, a festival of the Zhou tribe(鄒族) held every two years. They believe they get closer to their god by dedicating the heads of animals (dogs and monkeys), as well as singing and dancing around the fire. Finally, they become one with their god when they pledge a human head. However, the Han and Japanese rulers can't tolerate their nationality and intentionally smear the image and history of the Zhou tribe. Even so, the chief insists on bringing the young of the tribe to the traditional hunting ground to remind them of their ancestor's journey. Close
