TUAN Wan-lu is a naive and carefree young woman raised in a scholarly family and doted on by her protective older brother and childhood friend, KU Yu-lan. Her seemingly untroubled life begins to change when the sophisticated and handsome MENG Chiao comes into the picture. Though Wan-lu is deeply attracted to MENG Chiao, their romance is thwarted by the taunts of MENG Chiao’s mother.
