Liu Wei-jan, founder of Atom Cinema production company, has been working in the film industry for over 20 years since 1995. Having engaged in film distribution, film festival programming and media marketing, Liu has gained rich experience and built an extensive network. She used to serve as the Golden Horse Film Festival programmer and the judge for the Golden Horse Awards and Taipei Film Festival.

In 2005, she founded Atom Cinema to produce and promote Chinese language films. So far, Atom Cinema has produced many films that opened to positive reviews, such as "The Bold, the Corrupt, and the Beautiful," "Au Revoir Taipei," and "GF*BF." In 2015, Liu was nominated for Best Original Screenplay at the Golden Horse Awards for "Zinnia Flower."
