Li-Mei (played by Shao Yu-Wei), a news anchor, is highly popular in the media industry. Ready for a happy life, she is busy preparing for her wedding with her longtime boyfriend Da-Wei (played by Figaro Tseng). However, one day, she finds that her father (played by Li Tien-Chu) plans to remarry and the woman turns out to be Xiu-Lan (played by Lin Mei-Siu) with a background shrouded in mystery. Xiu-Lan is not very well-educated but is tender, smart, caring, and good at cooking. She is also loved by Li-Mei's bedridden grandmother. Just before her wedding, Xiu-Lan suddenly makes headlines for being a murder suspect. Her ex-boyfriends actually choose to commit suicide after wiring huge sums to her. To protect her father, Li-Mei avoids, at all costs, media exposure about Xiu-Lan’s relationship with her father while launching an investigation with prosecutor Guo-Lun (played by Rhydian Vaughan).
