Under Japenese colonization, two brothers, Ah Fa and Big Mouth, are poor peasants from a family of many children. The two brothers bear a heavy burden while managing to support the whole family. Regardless of this, they feel lucky for not having been drafted to fight in the war. During the American bombing, a child finds a piece of bomb shell in the field by accident.
