In March 2000, Director HOU Hsiao-Hsien(侯孝賢) founded SinoMovie.com with venture capital from Industrial Bank of Taiwan(台灣工業銀行), CMC Magnetics Corporation(中環) and Hung Tai Capital Management Co. Ltd.(宏泰集團) Sinomovie.com is the first cross-field media firm started with solid cinematic business operations in Great China area.

Our primary business operations include feature film production, commercial film production, feature film distribution and short film promotion. We develop and run a movie portal site SinoMovie.com, a beehive for film professionals, students and filmgoers. We also do multi-media productions, from writing up a proposal to building up a web site. Our ideal is to be the finest bridge between multi-media creative professionals and potential buyers.

We endeavor to produce quality feature films and commercial films and to develop Internet business simultaneously. SinoMovie gathers worldwide investment in high speed with prestigious filmmakers and production team, veteran media sales and creative Internet business group. We plan to create an on-line movie classroom. From introduce new concepts to foster new talents, we provide the most state-of-the-art experiences to our site visitors.

With the leadership of international acclaimed movie director HOU Hsiao-Hsien, we hope that we can constantly contribute our efforts and expertise to the international community of film as well as multi-media industry.

SINOMOVIE is led by president HOU Hsiao-Hsien and general manager HUANG Wern-Ying(黃文英), art director of many HOU’s movies since GOOD MEN, GOOD WOMEN(好男好女),(1995). In April 2001, the film production department was founded with the join of talented young directors such as HSIAO Ya-Chuan(蕭雅全，MIRROR IMAGE,命帶追逐，2000). Our consultants include the most famous Internet professional in Taiwan － JAN Hong-Ji(詹宏志), planner of many HOU’s movies including CITY OF SADNESS(悲情城市), (1989) and famous singer and song writer Lin Chiang(林強，MILLENNIUM MAMBO千禧曼波，2001 )…etc.
